In my decade of playing and running TTRPGs, the gaming setup proved itself the most commonly overlooked—and among the most essential—elements of a great experience.
So I gave my setup a long, hard look.
I take pride in my ability to bring my services to you. All of my equipment is curated and organized for quick assembly before every game, and I’ll take everything down again before I leave. The only thing you need is a room to play in—and there are a few features to look out for:
Features of an Optimal Gaming Room:
Enough Space
1
We’ll need space for a table and one chair for every player. My custom-built gaming table is 8 feet x 4 feet, so pay attention to the dimensions of your space and how many people will be joining us for a given session. There are few hard rules here—just something to consider for the sake of comfort.
Limited Distractions
2
You wouldn’t want construction sounds bleeding into a movie theater or random pedestrians walking across the stage at a comedy show. The same principle applies here. Optimal spaces don’t have non-players drifting in and out, loud, unavoidable noises, or anything else that could interfere with your enjoyment of the game.
Outlets and Wifi

Bonus Points if…
A significant portion of my setup involves tech—lights, speakers, laptop, etc. An area with no power and no access to the internet would make it a challenge to provide you the best possible experience.
— Windows in the room are small or limited in number. I can black out windows with my curtains if needed.
— The room is completely enclosed by doors we can shut. This helps block out sounds and light from the rest of the building and keeps the fog machine haze enclosed, if we use it. Open archways into the rest of the house are far from a dealbreaker, though.
